The committee are currently updating the business plan in light of the proposed additional new houses to be built in Heathfield and the surrounding villages. Funds in excess of £3.5m are still required to enable building work to start and suitable grant bodies are being researched. The Heathfield Partnership are always interested to hear from people with relevant fundraising expertise or individuals, charitable trusts or organisations who are interested in contributing to this target.

Welcome
This is the website for our community campaign to bring a long-awaited and much needed modern swimming pool, with improved fitness facilities, to the 22,000 people living in Heathfield and the surrounding villages.
Our Story

In partnership with the District, County, and Parish Councils, Heathfield Area Pool Initiative (HAPI), Freedom Leisure, Heathfield Community College, local businesses and residents, and other interested parties; and managed by The Heathfield Partnership Trust Ltd; it is our fervent ambition to bring about the design and construction of a top class swimming pool and fitness centre for the Heathfield area.
We believe the spirit of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games should be captured, for our community, in an enduring way. We already have a design for a 4-lane pool and new fitness centre, and we have a suitable site beside Heathfield Community College. Also, as part of the national Olympic legacy objectives, a Relocatable Olympic Swimming Pool has been applied for and successfully offered to our project which is a great boost to our fundraising efforts.

To-date we have raised some fifty thousand pounds which was used to pay for a feasibility study (to prove the need and the practicality of our idea) and to fund the full design and planning application. (Full approval was granted by East Sussex County Council in June 2012).
Now we need your help in raising the £3.25m of capital funds.
We hope this website will help you to see that this is a local campaign, created by members of the community for all our community, which deserves your support in any way you can give it. If you think you can help with our campaign - either as a donor, a fundraiser or a volunteer - please contact us.
Our Ethos
Right from the start, our idea has been to create a swimming pool and fitness centre that can be enjoyed by everyone in Heathfield and the surrounding villages and rural areas. We want to bring alive the Olympic spirit in our local community and, as part of that ideal, we have even applied for and was successful for the chance to adopt one of the relocatable pools used for the London Olympics. Our Proposal
Our proposal is to build a 25-metre, four-lane pool - with a well-equipped fitness gym - as an extension of the existing leisure centre that is part of Heathfield Community College. Our design proposal is for a modern building, using materials and technology to minimize the environmental impact and help to keep down running costs. Click here to find out more.
Our Project
Having successfully raised the money to put together the planning application, our project now is to raise the £3.25million that will be needed to make our proposal a reality. Click here to find out more.
Our Campaign
The story of this community campaign began in 2003, with a small action group - Heathfield Area Pool Initiative (HAPI) - which rapidly gained momentum and in 2005 joined forces with The Heathfield Partnership Trust Ltd. A working group was eventually formed, including representatives from other relevant bodies, to develop a full plan for the project's delivery. Click here to find out more.
